Some pictures relating to our holiday
home at Loch Ness.
This picture is taken looking across Loch Farraline at Lianachan cottage. This road is off the beaten track and is a good walk for dogs and leads way up into the Monadhliath mountains above Farraline.
Loch Mhor at Gorthleck, this loch is joined to loch Farraline since a hydro power scheme dammed loch Mhor to feed the first hydro power scheme on Loch Ness. The waters of Loch Mhor are piped down through a huge tunnel under the hillside of the Great Glen to a turbine station on the shores of Loch Ness. This produces electricity during peak periods, water is then pumped back up the hill at off peak periods to refill the lochs at Gorthleck.
The accommodation at Lianachan is very comfortable well equipped, clean and well maintained, as you can see from the pictures. We are nearby if you need help or advice on anything.
Every morning is a good morning at Lianachan, such is the care you will receive from Corinne & Gordon.
