Who we are
Having owned Lianachan now for some years, we have made some very special friends of the visitors who have been to stay. Many return year after year. Obviously we like to ensure that the cottage is very well maintained and each year we make further improvements. We maintain a high standard but ensure the cottage is a “Home from Home”. Lianachan has been awarded 4 stars by Visit Scotland.
We have always been concerned about the environment and being ‘Green’ so we have done our best to minimise our impact. We have provided for your use, environmentally friendly cleaning materials, recycling containers for glass, aluminium drink cans, metal cans and paper etc. A compost bin is available for your kitchen waste and low energy bulbs have been used throughout the cottage.
We love to see the birds and wildlife around the garden and feed the birds regularly. Food is left in the shed for you to continue this during your stay. Please remember not to put whole peanuts on the bird table during the nesting season (April – August) use the wire containers or nets, a young bird could easily choke on a whole nut. Thank you.
Roe deer can be seen in the early morning grazing in the meadow area and also taking a tasty mouthful from the garden. Beyond Lianachan is our 10-acre woodland, where we have reared and released pheasants and partridges many have stayed.
We have lived in this location now for over 20 years and feel very privileged to live in such a beautiful area. Although we have 5 Labradors the wildlife is not scared away and we enjoy watching them from very close quarters. It is not uncommon to see a roe deer peering through the window or to hear the pheasant tapping on the window for food.
